Michael’s work explores the beauty and variety of everyday life. Inspiration for his painting comes from the urban landscape and the often-overlooked, mundane objects that surround us.

Michael Schmidt is a full-time painter who works out of his home studio in Saint Paul as well as his shared studio space in the Northrup King Building in Northeast Minneapolis. Michael’s work has been featured in numerous individual and group shows in the Twin Cities and can be found in collections throughout the U.S., Canada and Great Britain.
